Thurs. 5/4 – Regionalism Vocab Shuffle

To help with our understanding of the complex political and economic relationships that is starting to develop between the three growing US regions, we will be playing a game of vocab shuffle.

Learning Targets

I CAN Arrange different vocab terms based upon similarity, region, and economic connection

brainstorm

To start we will do a group refresh of properly identifying each of the three region, their Economic product, their affiliation with Webster / Clay / Calhoun, and their arrows for trade.

The Main Course

Today we will be working in the IMC because of the extra space that we will need to move around.

With the large amount of vocab terms that we have been talking about with the three regions, today we will be looking at them a bit more abstractly.

Using the attached list, every student will be assigned one specific vocab term.

Once in the library, we will then organize three different times based upon the following criteria:

Round 1: Region (max of 5 / min of 3)

Please list what items are in your group

Please explain how they are connected

Round 2 : Conflicts (groups of 3)

Please list what items are in your group

Please explain how they are connected

Round 3: Economic (3 members, must connect all 3)

Please list what items are in your group

Please explain how they are connected
